This is a antique Remington Smoot No.3 Square Back Revolver. The Smoot No.3 was offered in two different variations. This one having a 3-3/4” barrel with a barrel rib. This also has an ejector on the right side. The No.3 has a 5 shot fluted cylinder chambered in .38 rimfire. This also has a square back grip with a square butt and a spur trigger. This has approximately 60-65% of original finish left with most of the finish loss being on the barrel. This also has light pitting along the barrel. The grips are in near perfect condition. Mechanically in excellent condition with proper timing and strong lock up.
Remington produced around 25000 Smoot No.3’s between 1878 and 1888.
