Starr Model 1858 Double Action Army in 44 Percussion. 6" barrel, 6 shot. Only 23,000 were manufactured between 1861-1863 in New York State, right in the middle of the American Civil War! This is a double action only design and would have been quite the innovative sidearm on the battlefield. Most would have been private purchase by Union men going off to War as a back up means of protection in addition to their single shot rifle. The action functions excellent on this piece. Timing is good, lockup rates good for a vintage percussion revolver, has about 2mm of movement if one tries to move cylinder. Original grip has military cartouche on left side, the pommel had many dings likely from striking something else on the soldiers belt while riding horse etc. Cylinder nipples are in good shape and all clear. Bore shows quite nice with some common non concerning wear. Exterior shows finish loss and areas of pitting. Overall a very unique seldom seen Civil War revolver, if only it could talk! $1995 includes Free Shipping. Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own. Will include an RCMP FRT printout showing antique status in Canada. $1995 includes Free Shipping. If you have any questions or need more pictures or video please feel free to ask.
