British Native Trade Gun Circa Mid. 1800’ s
This trade gun is pieces of British & Dutch history .Trade guns were cheaply produced because most were traded for native wares. The lock is marked Enfield 1862 Tower with Crown & the barrel has British crossed Sceptres Hallmarks. There is a “Serpent “side plate with a cluster of tacks on the butt plate. We consider the butt plate & trigger guard are of Dutch origins . Also trigger guard has large .
.68 Bore x 37” barrel. Amazing that the stock is still full length and solid. Origins are from Upper Canada. A really great piece of History. Asking $760 plus shipping.
