Caplock Bess, truncated, transitional stock, Lock-plate almost identical to an Enfield P53 (devoid of markings) with the mainspring acting directly on the tumbler (no stirrup ?...) Some screws handmade, and others Whitworth. The barrel has both London and Birmingham proofs, if my eyes can be relied upon. All I know is that it cleaned-up great (lil heavy on the varnish Bob !) and will get the barrel checked as I really want to fire it !

The Yataghan bayonet arrived promptly, and well packed.
Sadly the piece appears to have been unsympathetically polished with a power-tool, which detracts enormously from it's collector value.
I may be able to recover it somewhat without removing too much metal and to restore it to display quality.
Nonetheless, Bob always has interesting and curious pieces and is a gent to deal with.
