Watertown's first active unit was formed in May of 1853 as the Watertown Rifle Company. Watertown was a major American Arsenal located on the northern shore of the Charles River in Watertown, Massachusetts. U.S. Model 1861 Contract Watertown Rifle Musket, c. 1864. Last gun made by the men as the story goes!
