French service rifle. Simple design: DI and tilting bolt. Very well balanced and reliable.

nice wood, good rifling. No rust or significant wear.

caliber 7.5 French (7.5x54 MAS), full power rifle round. Similar to 303, getting a bit more hard to find/expensive, but it’s still produced and available.

magazines are probably the main disadvantage. Somewhat rare, and the weird external latch makes them hard to change quickly. 5 mags included. Of those  4 have been pinned more than once (see photo). Of those two only hold 4 rounds (instead of 5). But they all cycle fine, and last round holds open.

I’ve fired couple boxes through to test. Works like a charm.

Couple additional goodies included: bayonet, oil bottle, cleaning kit, sling. Leather is quite stiff, but should soften up with a bit of conditioning.
