Indonesian model SMLE No.1 Mk3* 'Stock marked "Drill Purpose"

This is a somewhat rare Indonesian model  SMLE. This has been stenciled "DP" on the butt which means "Drill Purpose". This designation was applied by armories for a variety of reasons, ranging from being unsafe to fire to obsolete and unsupportable by spares. Normally, this is stamped on the receiver, so I am not sure whether it is a case of a re-wooded sporter, but In any case purchaser should not count on shooting this rifle unless it is thoroughly re-certified by a competent gunsmith.
