Extremely rare 25-36 Marlin take down. 26" , half round half octagon , half mag. Dated 1914 , four digit serial beginning with A. Gun cycles and feeds as it should. Comes apart and locks up tight. Some blueing remains. Wood is in decent shape given its age. Small chip out of toe to butt stock. Case colouring still visible on lever and action. Original plastic Marlin butt plate.
Gun came with tang sight . Not sure of make or period. Have original tang screws. Also have original rear blank and a repro blank installed.
When I purchased this gun there was a slight defect in the chamber , likely cause I'm told was a separated case and the efforts taken to remove it. I have attached a photo of the brass with the slight bulge on the shoulder. I had the chamber reamed slightly to correct this issue. Work was done by a pro and is now flawless. Suppose I could have left it as it was however it bothered me so I fixed it. Gun shoots very accurately.
Seperate deal on the following: 40 new Quality cartridge 25-36 Marlin Head stamped brass. 28 once fired.
CH4d 2 die set.
More pics upon request. Case colour photos show up well in photos that were taken indoors minus the sun.
