**Price Drop** DCP - Dominion of Canada Proof Winchester 1892 saddle ring carbine 44-40 with 20 inch barrel. SN 772,4xx manufactured in 1915 In excellent condition. Strong original bluing on barrel and magazine. Mechanically excellent-works flawlessly with no issues, has good rifling. Wood is good fitting (not over sanded like so many) and in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. Only unique thing is: a leather strip was added into a section of the buttstock/buttplate as padding so wood wouldn’t crack - see picture. A nice DCP to add to a collection that is in very good condition overall including mechanical and shooting condition.
If you’re unfamiliar, these DCP rifles were used in World War I and issued to the British Navy. Canadian, inspectors were hired as part of the Commonwealth to go and inspect and select these rifles for Britain.
