Serial number dates it at 1898
Functions as it should, bore is decent some frosting and light pitting as seen in photos.
Good shooter for a 127 year old rifle. Looks like the wood has been refinished at some point. Front grip no crack or chips, but stock looks to have had some repairs on both sides where buttstock fastenes to the receiver, still solid no slop. The right side photo of the repair you will see the repair to the right and a white dog hair to the left so that is not a crack lol.
These butt stock are readily found on Numirich gun parts or Homstead gun parts. I just use it as is shoots fine.
26 inch full octagonal barrel.
Holds 9 rounds.
