Here is a rare seen Civil War Joslyn Carbine model 1864, caliber .52 rimfire. There was about 16,500 Joslyn carbines made between 1862 and 1865. Issued to Union calvary troops as new breech loading weapons. This one has matching serial number on barrel lug and breech block. Some dark patina on the metal, no live rust or pitting. Factory markings are clear visible. Wood is in good condition, no crack or other major damage. Buttplate marked “US”. I don’t have ammo for test shot but everything seems in good working order. Bore is rough but rifling still clear. See Flicker album for all details. Very good piece of history and example of early breech loading rifles. Antique status, no PAL required but need 18+ proof. Asking $1800, shipping on buyer if needed.
