Here is rare bird Marlin 1881 rifle. It is the first lever action model Marlin produced. Octagon barrel with full length magazine, caliber 38-55. Built in 1886 according to the serial number. Looks been refinished long time ago. Metal parts blue finish lightly fading on barrel. Receiver with cleaned surface pitting. Barrel address still visible. Wood is also refinished or replaced. Buttstock been repaired at rear end. Sliding loading gate works good. I haven’t shot it myself but manually cycles well. Bore is very good for the age with some shine left. Rifling strong and sharp. See Flicker album for details. Model 1881 were sold for over $3000 USD easily cross the border. I am asking $1900 for the refinished condition, Shipping on buyer if needed.
