This is a very rare M1889 Carbine of Mauser’s first smokeless rifle Belgian M1889. Belgian troop equipped this rifle and resisted German army in 1914. So the M1889 is called “A rifle that saved Paris”. . Manufactured by d’Armes de l’Etat, numbers partly matching. No crack on the wood and no live rust on the metal. Cartouche visible on the buttstock and possible regiment number on the buttplate. Bore is shining like new. Metal numbers and markings clear and sharp. Asking $3600 now $3200.
