Whithworth-Winchester 243 calibre rifle

This Whithworth-Winchester .243 calibre rifle is not a standard rifle designation but refers to the heritage Whithworth British rifle that has been chambered to accommodate the .243 Winchester cartridge. It has the design features of the famous Whithworth rifle, known for its exceptional accuracy in the 19th century. So, what we have is a modern rifle using the .243  Winchester round with design elements of the traditional and heritage Whitworth rifle.

This rifle has never been shot here at our farm. It was purchased to control the beaver population at the back of our property but due to the terrain, we found that the Conibear traps worked better. It is very accurate, with a flat trajectory of some 2000 yards. It is in pristine condition and has a Bushnell telescopic sight.
