In over 40 years of collecting , I’ve never seen a fore end pump split deliberately I suppose for a faster stroke ?? At any rate it works perfectly . This old model 61 C1940 has a few non factory issues however ….. bore and mechanics are A1 . Loaded and tested with shorts and long rifle . Operates as it should !! See pics pretty self explanatory . Still has prob 65% factory blue , thinning and staining here n there . Not much else to say other than totally functional and actually hits a can at 40 yds with my tired old eyes . Classic Winchester pump at the price of a Rossi 😂
