Hi team CGN. I have for sale a lovely Hubertus drilling in 16x16 over 8x57R. It was manufactured in September 1931. It has claw bases but no rings or scope. I had this gun sent to Epps last year to go over and they took it completely down and cleaned it up. There is a bit of wood filler they added to shore up the grip area and it functions beautiful. This gun has clearly seen some time in the woods but over all the bores are great.
Now, the odd part. It is 8x57R but the bore slugs to about .321. These German guns were made to individual specs at the time. I use Hornady .321 32 Special FP bullets and they work great. I don’t remember my load data off the top of my head but I was getting quite respectable velocities.
The shotgun bores are choked (I believe full on left and modified on right) but you may want to double check. Technically the bore length would be 2 9/16 inches. I have only shot 2.5 inch shells in it but most sources indicate that moderate 2 3/4 inch load would be safe.
Finally, the real cool part… this is a carbine length drilling. Barrels are around 19 inches as you see in the pics. It is lovely to carry in the woods.
I am looking for$1400 shipped with one full box and one partial box of the Hornady bullets. I am selling as I have three other drillings and this guy doesn’t get much action in the rotation
Only trades would be 8x68s Brass or ammo. 200 and 220 grain 8mm bullets. Sako S20 gray cerakote muzzle brake. Barnes bullets in .451 for 454 Casull.
Thanks for looking
