What we have here is a Belgian parlour rifle from around 1880-1900. Bought this as a cool little plinker to have around the yard but I don’t have the time to give it the care it deserves. First two pics are old and from the previous owner.
The hammer is stuck in place from what I can only assume is corrosion, and just needs a good soak in some Kroil, or a 50/50 mix of acetone/auto-transmission fluid for about a week.
Rest of the rifle is honestly in great shape for being from the Boer War period. Rifling is still good & strong (not that you’ll kill anything with a Flobert, but I’m sure it’s accuracy is worth something lol)
