Top of Rib is marked “Laminated Steel”
Right side of receiver is stamped “Machine Made”
Left side of receiver is stamped “Neumann Bros”
The proof mark from the Liege Proof House is the definitive black powder proof for breech loading guns, small bore guns and handguns and has been in use since 1893.
Neumann Bros were in business from approximately 1883 to 1930.
“Non Raye” marked under each barrel indicates Non Rifled
Right Barrel marked 10.6 and left barrel marked Choke 10.8
All metal is in good condition.
Bores have some pitting.
Action works perfectly and is solid with no movement.
Wood is in good condition and solid with a few handling marks and some small gouges but no apparent cracks.
Bottom of Butt Plate has a small piece broken off.
Gauge believed to be 44-40 shotshell.
When it was made it would have been classed as a Garden Gun
