The Hiawatha shotguns were made under contract by the Cooey Firearms corporation for the MacLeods Hardware franchised stores. The Hiawatha is an all metal and wood firearm, no plastic.
In it's former life it resided in a barn and as such it has the odd bit of barn patina. It is a solid gun, mechanically it functions well and the color case hardened receiver still has the color case hardened look. The barrel has been shortened to 24", has a large brass bead installed and it seems to pattern around modified with target ammunition.
I used it for competition, and it had to operate smoothly and reliably, which it does. I've decided to compete with a SxS external hammer shotgun instead, and I'd like to clear a space in the cabinet.
The price is $300, which reflects the condition and appearance. No shipping.
It can be used for competition, as a farmyard gun, for hunting gamebirds and other small game or for predator control. It appears to have a 3" chamber and because of the Cyl choke it likely will handle steel shot as well. I've only shot 2 3/4 target lead shot. IMHO it's best suited for target loads, buckshot and slugs.
I also used this shotgun to experiment with black powder ammunition, as seen in this video.
